In 2011 I submitted a panel of images and a written Statement of Intent to the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) following assessment of the panel was awarded the ARPS distinction 'Associate of the Royal Photographic Society'

Pavement Art – London in the Rain
Whilst taking photographs in Central London in 2009 I was caught in a cloudburst and was struck by the way in which the surface water and paving created abstract images of the surroundings.
This panel sets out to show how everyday London scenes are transformed by the simple combination of rain and pavement. The images demonstrate how the unevenness, texture and tint of paving abstracts and colours a scene whilst pooled and rippled surface water fragments, blurs, dithers and in some cases simply provides an impressionist feel to the image.
It is perhaps worth reflecting that in an age of computer manipulation we can find such imagery literally at our feet.
